Well, that'll learn me for crowing about how I had the fic finished (in my head, at least) because this morning on the bus it vomited up another few chapters and it's gone all completely Midsummer on me, as in, wtf, you're supposed to be in love with him, not him, and oi, who's been snorting lines of fairy dust then? Perhaps Midsummer Night's Dream is a comment on characters running amok and taking a fancy to the most ridiculous of creatures. Or maybe it's just me and my clumsy sub-Whedon soapie that has just spun completely out of control (with poor Guy reduced to a cameo?!).

But I tell ya, I think I'd rather kill one of the characters than risk a syrupy Wind Beneath My Wings montage, I can tell you.

Damn, I can't find anything of use on swords on the net (not that I really need bother). Strangely, I have a real hankering to fillet somebody (fictional) with that gorgeous bronze short sword I saw the other day (hey, it's been a week, 'kay). Which means I should probably write Titus fic, but I don't see the need as just about everything I want is up on the screen anyways. And yes, you can quote that back to me in six months time when it's sandals in the air (like when I threw out almost all of my quality academic copied from uni library texts Hood notes six months ago because I wasn't going to be writing no Robin fic no more, never ever, no way, no how. Yeah, right).

Btw, I was browsing through the reviews for As You Like It and noticed they were using words like "talented", "excellent", "engaging", "potent" and "strong", which, to the best of my recollection, were not words used to describe another performance by another actor elsewhere. Indeed, I believe the phrase used was "out-acted by trees". But I shall refrain from pointing and laughing because I don't want to start anything like the old Blur vs Oasis wars.

If anything I'm just miserable because I am seeing neither the Two Sams nor Jason as I'd very much hoped to but no, everyone else is on leave and I'm stuck here doing triple shifts for no pay. And you know what they say, all work and no plays...leads one to start imaging stabbing people with bronze short swords, obviously. Come here little pigs and let me finger your entrails, to paraphrase The Young Ones.

Well, with two weeks so far of neither sleep nor food I'm just about on track for going completely nuts. The only thing they'd left to eat was a novelty sized Cherry Ripe, and that hardly counts as my daily serving of fruit now, does it. Le sigh.

The other thing I had to do (while making a short side trip to the newsagent and hooray, Brit mags, at bloody last, and just in time, now that the Saxon hordes have duly departed) to pick up another D&P book. I'd only bought one last week but alas all this late leaving has cubed my travelling time so I realised with dismay that I was pages from the end this morning, even with all my day dreaming of Days Of Our Outlaws out the night dark window (and, hoo boy, is that gonna stick for a working title now). So off to Dymocks for a book. Found one I'd not read, after a search. Alas, it's getting harder and harder to find unread D&Ps now, as I've made inroads into the back catalogue at last.

Mind you, I was annoyed as we were all queueing patiently when this woman just barged ahead. Unfortunately, folks polite enough to actually wait their turn are rarely the sort to grab the skinny blonde bitch by the lapels of her business suit and nut her, but try me again on Friday. Grrr.

Meanwhile, as I was grumping about that it was just another day, bah humbug, another colleague lamented that she was neither inundated nor asphyxiated by vegetation. I was muttering under my breath about whether the expected roses would be York or Lancaster, to which I was told it was small wonder I never got roses if I was going to be so curmudgeonly. Personally, I think it's the lack of roses that make me solely associate them with civil wars and stabbing people with big pointy things. Hmmm, do I sense a theme?
