hell's bells

All I wanted to do was go home early and watch some I Spy. That didn't happen, of course, but when I switched on Get Smart I got the end of the Cosby Show and then, the gods were kind, it was Die spy, the I Spy pisstake, with Bobby in a very silly cameo, so, good enough.

I spent Halloween at home sick (hey, I work through Christian holidays so I figure it was only fair). I get up at noon and inflict the X Files on myself and worse: Talos the Mummy. This is a really bad movie, and having Christopher Lee (the could only afford him for one day, apparently), Sean Pertwee and Jack Davenport in it hardly made up for the overwhelming direness. Still, we MST3K'd our way through it and I carved my pumpky - as is now tradition. No trick or treaters but this is where the local evil old hag lives - I remember getting beat up on my first day in kindergarten when they found out my mother was the horrid old biddy who kept balls kicked over the fence, etc. Then they ignored me. Thus setting the path for my life, alas. Beat me up and ignore me, go on, I'm used to it, I expect it. I probably even need it.

Stargate: Antartic episode #1. Byers! It's Byers! Dear Byers! Why can't he be the new member of SG-1. He'd certainly fulfil their nerd quota. Again I'm going to point out that all the US bases are in NZ territory and of course they share all this with their ANZUS treaty members. Of course they do. As always. Yeah, right. Anyway, they decide to mess around with the theory of evolution, which is risky stuff considering the study of evolution is banned in several US states (and they call the Saudis fundalmentalist) and it's just really, really tedious and they all get sick from the defrosted babe and bloody well deserve to for not taking any precations. Safe defrosting anyone? Where's the Team from Meet the Ancestors when you need them? It's all a set up to get Jack snaked and the frosty babe seems to serve no purpose at all, not even as a research stiff. And do I really need to see people all suffering from flu when I'm still really down with myself - a month of flu in case you were counting.

Stargate: Anartic episode #2. Singularity. In spite of the overwhelming Sam/Jack shippiness of it all, I actually like this. You get Jack background, and Jack h/c, and RDA actually attempting to act for once in his life, proving he can do it when he wants to, and Danny as the pale grieving widow waiting for the telegram. Ah, SG1 when it didn't annoy me quite so much. Though did you notice that S6 has dropped the Sam/Jack, let Jonas save the day several times now...all the stuff we complained about. They couldn't get this right when MS was still attached? I actually loved seeing Byers, I just thought the thing had more holes in it than my fave t-shirt.

Dark Angel: The obligatory vampire as drug metaphor episode. Yawn. whatever happened to vamps as forbidden sex, that's what I wanna know. Not enough Alec, too much 'just say no' moralising. C-.

Homicide: Life on the Streets. another brilliant episode of real characters, real humour and a punchline that had me laughing out loud. Brilliant. So sad they no longer make this.

Profiler: or rather Pretender as Jarod shows up again, like I don't have enough Jarod in my life. And fie on profilers. Single professional white guy in a white van indeed. Wish I could fuck up that badly in my job.

X Files: Now at the new exciting time of 10.20 pm. Well, at least I found it this week. Featuring one of my fave lads from Band of Brothers and evil Jim from Neighbours. The plot, sigh, lets forget about the plot. This, alas, is the episode where Byers buys it. Sniff. At least he's still kicking over at the SGC.

A History of Britain: The 45! Okay, yes, huge folly, but as my kinsmen are buried under the sod at Culloden, I'll let you guess where my sympathies lie.

In real life, no one can hear you scream. Had another twisty turny fever dream about me making a powerpoint presentation in a classroom as to why I'm cracking up. Basically, I just can't learn coldfusion fast enough (hey, my background is in communications and records management, not apps development) and my friends are all selfish in their demands (I get all of the homework and none of the parties) and I never get a chance to write and nobody appreciates what I can do, just what I can't. That was the main gist of it anyway. I love it, I had charts and everything plotting my descent into not caring anymore. But I woke up and realised....arrrgh...reality is so much worse. I work, I go home and try to sleep. I have no life to speak of. I just can't keep up at work anymore. I wish I didn't care, but I do. Though in my dream I was a little more upfront about my anger. In my dream another city had gotten blowed up and all I could think of was how that freed up some of my to do list. Hence the ppt to demonstrate just why I was too tired to care any more.

Oh yeah, it's hormone week. Feel the self pitying rants that twist through my blog like a black poison. Though I do feel more sinned against than sinning. I try so hard and I'm not even allowed to grumble, especially about people who have it so much easier than me. Nobody loves me, everybody hates me, I think I'm gonna eat worms. Blah blah woof woof.

Ooops...just ran out of space at yahoo. I've had to go back and delete a lot of pics, so if you click on a link and it don't work no more, that's what happened. Sorry, but I can't be arsed paying for a very, very low trafficked site. I deleted the non celeb pics first, in case you were interested. I kept the Biehn pics but deleted the ones for my garden, because who really cares and it looks like I've got more chance of shabbing Mr Biehn than ever getting my garden back. That's not to say my chances of ever even being on the same continent as MB are any good, just that my chances of getting my garden back seem less than zero. I was told not until Easter next year, if ever when I asked yesterday. You know, when I got offered that fabbo job in Melbourne I sat in Fiztroy Gardens as cried because I couldn't bear to leave my garden behind. Nothing else, just my garden. This probably accounts for my deep blue funky pants today. I've been miserable since I was told, very bluntly, that my garden would have to go, and I'm beginning to realise she's just lying when she says I can move it back. I wish I could be as mean and guilt free as her, then I'd have no problem at all.
